Wedding Photographer's Top 5 Secret

Wedding Photographer's Top 5 Secret

By Sujan Studio - 15 October 2023

I’ve been a wedding photographer for years now, but I can still remember how difficult it was when I started out. There’s no doubt about it: wedding photography is one of the most competitive industries out there. But that doesn’t mean you should give up! If you want to make a name for yourself as a wedding photographer, here are five tips that will help you along the way:

Listen and communicate with the client

  • Listen to the client’s requirements: When you start a wedding photography project, it is important for you to listen carefully to what is being asked of you. From getting on-site early, making sure that the venue has been cordoned off from other guests and ensuring that there are no distractions during your shoot—these are some of the tasks which must be carried out by a professional photographer who has been hired for this specific task.
  • Be clear with your communication: It’s always wise to ensure that clients pay attention to every word that comes out of your mouth during meetings or in conversations over email so as not waste any time later on explaining anything further than necessary. Being clear about what needs doing also helps avoid any confusion over certain aspects such as payment schedules or booking dates etc.
  • Be responsive to client’s needs: A good way of making sure this happens is by checking back with them regularly via phone calls or emails containing updates on their order status so they can rest assured that everything is going according to plan (or not!)

Be creative

To keep yourself from getting stuck in a rut, you need to be creative. You can do this by taking risks and trying new techniques. Experiment with different camera angles, lighting, props and backgrounds.

Search for a new location

  • Search for a new location.
  • Look for a new angle.
  • Look for a new perspective.
  • Look for a new way to tell the story

Take the client seriously

  • “Taking the client seriously” is a difficult thing to do, especially when they have silly or stupid ideas. But you need to remember that they are paying you for your services, and so it’s important that you treat them with respect. Don’t dismiss their ideas as silly or stupid—instead, ask yourself if there’s any way that those ideas could be made better or more effective. Even if the client has a very specific idea in mind for their wedding photos, don’t assume that your own way of doing things is better than theirs. You may have more experience than they do, but they’ll know what they want their wedding photos to look like better than anyone else does!
  • If your clients come up with an idea that seems unworkable (for example: “We want our wedding photos taken by an underwater photographer who swims around us while we’re getting married”), try not to get frustrated by this request before thinking about it calmly for a moment; this could just be something fun for them and might not actually reflect their real expectations when it comes down to actually booking someone who can take awesome underwater shots of themselves during the ceremony itself.

Charge the right price

Keeping in mind all the factors mentioned above will help you to charge right price for your wedding photography or any other service. I would highly recommend that before giving any quotation, you should think about the total hours of work and any packages provided by the client. If there are extra requests made by your clients then make sure you charge for that as well.

Being a wedding photographer is not an easy task.

Being a wedding photographer is not an easy task. You have to be creative, listen to your clients, and charge the right price. On top of that, you have to search for a new location so your photos will look unique in each one.

So if you want to be a wedding photographer in the future, think about what you’re going through now as well as how hard it might be later on. Then ask yourself: do I really want this job?
