I’ve been a wedding photographer for years now, but I can still remember how difficult it was when I started out. There’s no doubt about it: wedding photography is one of the most competitive industries out there. But that doesn’t mean you should give up! If you want to make a name for yourself as a wedding photographer, here are five tips that will help you along the way:

Listen and communicate with the client

• Listen to the client’s requirements: When you start a wedding photography project, it is important for you to listen carefully to what is being asked of you. From getting on-site early, making sure that the venue has been cordoned off from other guests and ensuring that there are no distractions during your shoot—these are some of the tasks which must be carried out by a professional photographer who has been hired for this specific task.
• Be clear with your communication: It’s always wise to ensure that clients pay attention to every word that comes out of your mouth during meetings or in conversations over email so as not waste any time later on explaining anything further than necessary.
